Features

Together

Readers, co-writers and co-authors, with no account for anyone.

Share live

Give someone a link and they read your book in their browser as you write it. They select text to comment or react, and each comment lands in your project. You choose the chapters and how long the link stays open, up to eight hours, and up to five people can join. Read more

The Share live window: the chapters to share, what guests can do in each, and how long the link stays open.

Write together

In the chapters you choose, a guest can write with you: you both type in the same chapter and see each other’s words and cursors as they appear. Your project saves everything, and each person’s Undo takes back only their own. A guest cannot change statuses, details or any other chapter. Read more

Co-authors

Invite a co-author with a link, and they write in your book from their own Rescriptus, with the whole app, for as long as the book takes. Their changes reach your storage through your Rescriptus, so they need no account and no access to your storage. You let each one in, and can remove them. Read more

Beta readers

Export a reader copy: one file your readers open in any browser, with no account and no connection. They comment and send you back a small file, and the Comments tab shows each comment beside its passage, even after you have edited it. Read more

The Comments tab beside a chapter: a reader's comments and reactions, each against the passage it is about, with Resolve and Hide.

Some networks block a direct connection. Where this server has a relay, it carries the same encrypted data and cannot read it. The privacy policy has the details.

Also: a note for your guests; guests who see each other’s comments only if you say so; a co-author’s settings and daily count that stay their own; GitHub collaborators, if your book is on GitHub.
